CEBIK SITE CHANGES AND WHY
We welcome your visit and access to read the content which is still free to view here exactly as before. However, as a reminder, the content of this site is for personal use only and not for reproduction or republication, including mirroring without written permission by antenneX.
Further, copyright/ownership is held exclusively by antenneX on 520+ of the 800 articles herein for which LB was substantially compensated by antenneX over the past 11 years (see "NOTE" below). Any redistribution of this site without permission comes under the heading of piracy and theft of Intellectual Material. The site has not now or ever been released to the public domain.

This site is the only official site for this content and the domain has always been owned and operated since March 1999 by our hosting company, Sage-American. See use of site next:

USE OF THE SITE IN LB'S OWN WORDS
"....Please do not attempt to download the entire site using software designed for blind downloading. If you wish a record of the entire site, antenneX periodically produces a CDROM with the entire site on it. However, I have kept most (but, alas, not all) of the items at the site short enough to read at a single sitting. Pick something of interest, read, and digest. Then pick something else. Let your wandering interests be your guide. If you wish to read more on a subject, by all means, select a related item. ..."

"....Since January, 1994, I have written a technical column on antennas for 10-10 International News. The column is called "An-Ten-Ten-nas" and is available on these pages. In 1996, I started a column, called "Antennas From the Ground Up," in Low Down, the journal of CQC. This series is also available on these pages. Although the two series share some topics, the 10-10 News series focuses upon upper HF antenna subjects, while the Low Down series zeroes in on matters most relevant to lower HF operations. I have also begun (March 1998) a continuing series on "Antenna Modeling" for antenneX, the on-line antenna journal. This series is linked from these pages.

I regret that I am unable to provide offprints of [some] articles. Some of the publishers may be able to supply them. A few items to which I retain the copyright, along with other items from my notebooks, are available on these pages. ..."

And, on most (if not all) of the ~150 personal articles by LB on cebik.com, this type of copyright notice of LB's has been displayed on its pages since inception of the Cebik Site more than a decade ago:
"....Updated mm/dd/yy. © L. B. Cebik, W4RNL. Data may be used for personal purposes, but may not be reproduced for publication in print or any other medium without permission of the author. ...."

The above statements and wishes of LB for the use of this site have existed on the site for a decade prior to his death. Alas, the server was detecting efforts to mass download the entire site almost daily by some. LB agreed that triggers should be implemented to abort such sessions from the moment of detection. Some did so unwittingly while others knowingly disregarded LB's wishes. With the emerging cottage industry of mass download utilities, the problem only grew causing more concerns and a decision to go the next step of installing a login program to maintain even better control over the content. Such was planned before LB's passing, but implemented right afterwards because the mass downloading efforts jumped by 20-30x. Thus, the abusive behavior and disregard for the rules by the few affects the many as is usually the case.

NOTE OF THANKS: We wish to thank those from the Ham Community and other friends and loyal readers who have reported a few attempts to violate our exclusive copyright by taking a copy of this site to distribute and reproduce the contents, an outright disregard for our rights of ownership. Obviously, the majority of our readers understand the need for teeth in copyright and patent protection laws and their enforcement. We have prosecuted each and every violation and misguided disregard for our right to protect the Intellectual Material herein. It is incredulous that anyone would consider it okay to simply up and take one's entire domain and its valuable content with impunity. Moreover, as stated above, 520+ articles contained in the copy taken are owned by antenneX and not LB. Such was part and parcel of numerous agreements with LB on file.

If you know of any such attempts of piracy and theft of this site other than the permitted use described above, please contact the publisher, Jack L. Stone. Let folks know copyright and such protection of Intellectual Materials are meaningful. By notifying us helps to keep this site available for free access. However, a high level of legal fees can cause our costs to soar and require subsidy. Help us avoid this by letting offenders know they cannot not hide their attempts, identity and are not immune from immediate prosecution no matter what they believe their rationale to be. The vast majority of readers understand and respect the rights of others.

MORE INFO TO CONSIDER
antenneX
has been LB's publisher of 30+ books, software, 1000s of modeling files, 100s of articles and this site for more than a decade. As part of numerous publication agreements with LB, he could display those antenneX articles on this site for as long as he was alive. While alive, we never mentioned this private agreement. Therefore, the antenneX investment in this site is substantial and shall be protected as well as preserved. Acts of piracy/theft will be prosecuted as and when found. You are welcome to return for reading sessions as often as you like or need. Just remember, use of this site is a privilege, not a right.

For any who thought this (ever) was a freely-produced "hobby site" and should always be free must deal with the fact that LB's passing has changed things on this site, but only in a minor way for those willing to simply create a login. For now and foreseeable future, we will continue to make the content here freely available, but merely require a login (not unlike a library card) so we know your reason for being here is legitimate and not to misuse and abuse the content or the site.

As time progresses, some changes will be made to update this site to fit the current circumstances and/or additional content as may be appropriate. Our goal is to preserve and protect LB's excellent works in this field and continue to make them available to help those who need it and educate those who seek to learn.

For more open-access viewing of articles by LB and numerous other authors, two additional locations are available at the antenneX Preview (no login) section and the Guest Rooms (create a login). You will find loads of useful utilities, models, design programs and the like for download contributed from many antenna experts. More than 8 million visits recorded! You are welcome too.

SOME FURTHER BACKGROUND
Among his many other activities, LB Cebik was the Technical Editor for antenneX Online Magazine and a regular monthly contributor of his antenna modeling column plus feature articles for 11 years. antenneX was his primary publisher of choice for his works for the past 11 years, including some 30+ antenna-related books and 1000+ modeling files for NEC and EZNEC formats for NEC-2 and NEC-4. (see more info below) These sales help to keep this site perpetuated. Donations are not requested. Instead, one receives real extra value in exchange for the revenues this site plus the products.

LB and antenneX decided some ten years ago to produce an annual CD-ROM of this site's viewable content to satisfy those type of needs for readily available references and eliminate any desire or need to try a mass download that wastes bandwidth and may slow down the site for others trying to read online. See above and below for links to the latest CD-ROM.
